Christmas Eve at Fauntleroy Church (three services)
4 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m.
Fauntleroy Church, 9140 California Ave SW

Traditionally, Fauntleroy Church offers three services on Christmas Eve. At 4 p.m., a simple worship time (about 1/2 hour) with carols and the Christmas Story is designed for children. The 7 p.m. service is most like the usual Sunday morning experience, with a choir anthem, a sermonette, a children’s story, and lots of carols. The service concludes with the singing of “Silent Night” and a dark room illumined with candle light. At 11 p.m., there is a quiet, meditative service with short reflections on the characters of the Christmas Story, interspersed with carols and quiet. It concludes with a prayer and a circle of candle light around the darkened sanctuary. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at Fauntleroy Church. For more information, visit www.fauntleroyucc.org.
