Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development Outreach Session for Draft Comprehensive Plan

date posted: 15 Apr 2024

Dear Neighbors,

Councilmember Rob Saka’s office, District 1, is coordinating with the draft Seattle Office of Planning and Community Development (OPCD), to sponsor an outreach session for the draft Comprehensive Plan.

The date is Monday, April 29th, from 6:00pm-7:30pm, at Admiral Church, 4320 SW Hill Street; there is church parking.

This session is primarily intended for the members of three groups – Admiral Neighborhood Association, Alki Community Council, and Fauntleroy Neighborhood Association – because we have heard that members would like to better understand the Plan and in particular the growth strategy/zoning part of the Plan and how it will impact your neighborhoods. This is an information session and it is primarily for those who were not able to attend the Open House recently held at Chief Sealth International HS.  Community input is due by May 6.

OPCD staff Michael Hubner has offered to present and will bring materials.

You are encouraged to review the Plan documents here, and should you be unable to attend, there will be a virtual meeting (city-wide) to be held on May 2nd.  You can email all comments (now or later) to: OneSeattleCompPlan@seattle.gov.

Thank you!

Elaine Ikoma Ko (she/her)

Chief of Staff

Seattle City Councilmember Rob Saka, District 1

Fauntleroy YMCA Community Survey

date posted: 06 Feb 2024

The attached letter recently sent from the YMCA talks about the results of last month’s community meeting, which includes the creation of this survey.

The partnership between the Y and the Fauntleroy Church has existed for over 100 years. The Y is requesting community input into the discussion about the future of the Y in the Fauntleroy community. We encourage people to read the attached letter and provide input to the Y through the survey.

Dear Fauntleroy YMCA Community,

We want to express our gratitude for your participation in the recent town hall event, where we discussed the future plans for our beloved Fauntleroy YMCA. The passion in the room was palpable — we thank you for your honesty and your vulnerability. We are committed to the Fauntleroy YMCA and look forward to working with the community to determine the best use for the space. We heard a lot of great ideas, and your thoughtful feedback is crucial as we navigate to ensure the continued success of the Fauntleroy YMCA.
